Introducing Cotswold Gates, composite sliding and swing gates
When you decide on the type of gate you want, it can be a daunting process. You may start asking yourself, what type of material do I want to use? And, what type of gate is best for my needs? But when you have little, to no experience with gates, this is a difficult task.
At Cotswold Gates, the first step in finding the right gate for you, is by getting to know you. There is nothing more frustrating than when you hire professionals who expect you to have all of the answers. We will ask you questions; why do you want a gate, is it for security, privacy, or both? By speaking with you, we’ll have a better understanding of your needs and wants, in order to come up with some excellent gate designs.
It’s our job to make suggestions that will benefit you, so you can visualise fully what a swing gate, or any of our other gates would look like for your home.
We also want to use sustainable materials where possible, and ensure you’re receiving a long-lasting, quality gate you can enjoy for years to come. This is why we would rather use composite materials, than wooden. Composite swing gates last a lot longer, as they are made from low maintainence materials. These materials are much stronger than wood, and more durable. We believe composite gates are a much better option if you’re looking for a long-lasting gate.
Imagine if you could…
Work with one company who will provide both the design, and installation of your composite swing gate.
Hire a team of professionals, who get to know you, in order to help you decide on the best gate option for you.
Have an optional maintenance package, with an annual inspection, and additional callouts dealt with on the same day by local engineers.
The features and benefits of Cotswold Gates composite gates
We use composite materials
Composite materials are the formation of 2 materials that join together to create a more durable, resistant and stronger product. For example, if you wanted a wooden swing gate, but were unsure on the use of wood, you could opt for composite material. Using a mixture of wood fibres, binding agents and plastics, your swing gate would have the appearance of wood but would last a lot longer.
We have access to the best materials and suppliers
Not only do we build long-lasting relationships with our customers, we do the same with our suppliers. Absolutely everything is dealt with in-house, from the design, to the build, you won’t ever be speaking to more than one person, or one company.
However, we do need to get our material from somewhere. We’ve spent years and years forming bonds with suppliers, finding like-minded people we can trust, and who can trust us. Because of this, we’re in a position to be able to source all types of quality materials, in order to provide you with a high-quality, long-lasting swing gate design.
We believe the level of service we provide is rare, as most companies either provide the design, but not the build, or don’t use suppliers regularly enough to form any sort of relationship.
We know how frustrating it is to work with companies who drag their feet. But because of the relationships we’ve built, and our work ethic, our turnaround is quick, and efficient. So you’re never left wondering what’s going on, or when your composite swing gate will be finished.
Not only do we create and build your composite swing gate, we look after it for years to come
When you invest in a composite swing gate, it’s important to understand that it’ll need to be maintained. With the unpredictable weather in the UK, maintenance is essential.
Many companies will provide you with a gate, but no aftercare package. At Cotswold Gates, we provide a 12 month warranty on all of our gates. But we go one step further, we also provide an optional maintenance package. This aftercare package is unique, as most companies won’t offer this service. And although this is an optional service, we do highly recommend it.
We will provide a health check on your gate every 12 months, and because we are a local business, any additional call outs can be dealt with on the same day.
It was important to us when we decided to provide this product, that it also came with an optional service. We never want you to think that once the job is over, we just walk away. We want to build long-lasting relationships, as this is the foundation to any business success.
Gate safety and gate security
When we install your custom gate build, your safety is paramount, as this is one of the main factors people choose to install driveway gates. This is why we ensure all of our engineers are suitably trained, and that all of our systems are designed and specified with safety in mind. We can provide you with a range of different safety functions, all of which we will discuss with you, when we plan and design your custom gate build.
We are members of the BSIA, and are also certified installers of several manufacturers systems (Salto, ASSA, Abloy, Axis, Texecom). It’s important you have peace of mind when you hire us to build your gate, and that you are at ease with the level of security and expertise we instil into all of our custom gate builds.

FAQ
What is a swing gate?
Swing gates are gates that open and close via a swinging mechanism, usually with the help of electronic automation systems but they can also be operated manually. Electric swing gates reduce the need for manual operation, and will typically open inward.
Also, as each gate installation is different, from manual gates, to electric, wooden to metal, the cost of installation may vary considerably between different gates.
How long will my gate last?
Anything that lives outside needs to be maintained. It doesn’t matter how good it is, or the material used. Water, humidity and the general physical changes in weather dictate that any electrical, or mechanical system will need to be maintained in order to thrive. If maintained correctly, there’s no reason it shouldn’t last a lifetime.
What is a composite gate?
Composite gates are made from low maintenance materials, as an alternative to wood. Composite materials are much stronger and durable than wood, so is a great option if you’re looking for a long-lasting gate build.
How much does a swing gate cost?
On average, a swing gate takes less time to install than a swing gate, so that would reduce the cost. It also depends on the material used, and the size of the gate. For us to give you a quotation we would need to speak with you, as one size doesn’t fit all it’s impossible for us to provide a ballpark figure. Call us for a free, no obligation quote.
