Introducing Cotswold Gates, gate automation end to end service
Whether you’re looking for an electric gate that provides security, privacy, or both, we’ve got you covered. Our end-to-end gate automation service is like no other, from our research and recommendations, to the installation of your automatic gate and beyond, we leave no stone unturned.
We know just how frustrating it can be to work with a company who just sees money signs, but this isn’t what we’re about. Our main objective at Cotswold Gates is to provide an exceptional service and build long-lasting relationships with our customers. The relationships we develop are paramount to the success of our business.
In order to build long-lasting relationships we need to be trustworthy, and experienced in what we do. This is why we pride ourselves on the level of commitment we put into each and every one of our gate automations. We don’t want to just walk away after your gate has been installed, so we offer an optional maintenance package.
We only work on gate automation in The Cotswolds, because we want to provide an efficient service. If we are a million miles away, we wouldn’t be able to fix, or update your gate. It would also make maintaining your gate a little more difficult.
The security, and privacy of your home is what is most important. This is why it’s so important to us that you can trust us, and are happy with the overall service you receive.
The features and benefits of Cotswold Gates, gate automation
Your gate automation and access is dealt with entirely by Cotswold Gates
We provide an end-to-end service, which means everything is dealt with in-house. From the initial planning stage, to the gate automation and gate access, there will be no need to hire external tradespeople.
We look at why you want/need an electric gate, what type of gate is best suited to your needs (metal, wooden, composite), and how it will tie in with the design of your home. For instance, we wouldn’t advise a modern metal gate if you live in a cottage, as it wouldn’t tie in with your home’s aesthetics.
It’s also important we get to know you. Are you looking for privacy, or security? Do you want something that’s low maintenance? How do you want to access the grounds? These are all questions we will ask in our initial meeting/phone call, so we can get an idea about who you are and what you want.
Too many businesses think their customers should know exactly what they want, when they’re the ones who are meant to be the experts. We provide solutions, we will never expect you to provide us with all the answers.
We provide a quick turnaround
With a lot of companies you are looking at long turnarounds for the build of your automatic gate, from around 10 weeks for their survey to be completed and 6 months before the gate automation is completed.
At Cotswold Gates we pride ourselves on our quick turnaround. Because everything is dealt with under one roof, we’re able to design and build your gate a lot quicker than other businesses. We have access to a variety of materials, so don’t need to rely on other tradespeople to do their part. And, because we are a family run business, sharing the same values and objectives, we are able to communicate with one another a lot more efficiently than if we were dealing with a number of companies.
Not only do we create and build your automated gate, we look after it for years to come
We’ve mentioned above that we provide an optional maintenance package to our customers. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever, and when electrics are involved, mixed with our unpredictable British weather, maintenance will be required. We advise all of our customers to purchase our maintenance package as it ensures every 12 months your gate receives a health check.
Because we are a local business, working in The Cotswolds and Gloucestershire, any additional callouts come at no extra charge. This is why we remain local, it’s important we’re able to reach our customers on the same day as their call, as we appreciate that the majority of people purchasing automated gates are doing so for security. And we don’t want any of our customers feeling unsafe.

ARE you ready to…
Have your bespoke automated gate designed and built for you, quickly and efficiently.
Feel safe and secure in your home and garden.
Have peace of mind that your electric gate will be looked after for years to come.
Work with a sustainable business to create, build and maintain your gate automation.
Can I automate my gates, or integrate them with other access controls?
We would ask for an image and description of your gate, but the simple answer is yes, you can automate your existing gate. The life expectancy of your gate may decrease if it is made from wood, as automated systems add additional pressure to your gates frame, but if your gate is metal this won’t be a problem at all.
We can most definitely add an automated system to your existing gate, if it is in working order and if you can provide us with information on the materials used to build your gate.
In regard to integrating your gate with other access controls; ie. Garage doors, front doors, CCTV then yes, you can. You can also access your gate remotely if you aren’t at home – say you need to let the postman in to leave a parcel at your door – this is no problem.
Do electric gates have a manual override?
Yes, of course, to manually override your electric gate you will just need to use the manual gate key at the motor. We will provide this to you, and show you how to use it, in the off chance your electric gate stops working.
If you do choose to purchase our optional maintenance cover, then we will be able to visit your property on the same day, at no extra cost, to work out what the problem is.
Why is access control important?
How do automatic gates work?
This all depends on the type of automatic gate you have, you may use a keypad, or you may use a keyfob. Whichever gate automation device you use will open your electric gate via electric motors.
Are automatic gate openers secure?
Yes, they are secure. We provide a variety of options, including keypad, keyfob, sensors, apps, the choices are endless. We would advise you to choose whichever option you feel will provide the level of security you need. But we are experienced gate installation professionals, so we can recommend a gate automation product based on your needs if you’d prefer.
How long will my gate last?
Anything that lives outside needs to be maintained. It doesn’t matter how good it is, or the material used. Water, humidity and the general physical changes in weather dictate that any electrical, or mechanical system will need to be maintained in order to thrive. If maintained correctly, there’s no reason it shouldn’t last a lifetime.
